When wealth and power transfer into darkness

HARRIS

When I caught up with Seymore, he was with Sue walking in from the outside patio. The perfect temperature of eighty degrees flowed in through the doors with them as the two seemed entrenched in an intense conversation. They were so engrossed that they didn’t notice me coming from their left. I walked right up to Seymore while he was in mid-sentence.

“………get back on track and begin working on expanding S Diamonds.”

“How’s that? You have a master plan?” I coolly interrupted. I had planned on confronting Seymore, the moment I saw him, but that thought dissipated, watching him standing next to Sue.

They both jumped, Sue more noticeable, at my voice. I studied Seymore as he looked at me with a very neutral expression. Sue watched me as if I had three heads. I ignored them both and continued. “So what are Sue and Seymore convening about on such a beautiful early afternoon in the mountains? Something about expanding S Diamonds? I’d love to hear about this trajectory.”

“Nice to see you, too, Harris,” Sue answered, a little too cool for my taste. “As a matter of fact, we were speaking about how to grow S Diamonds once we get away from this headache with the Gambini’s.”
